"If your feeling out of kilter, dont know why or what about? Let your feet reveal the answer, find the sore spot, work it out." Eunice Ingham
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient therapy practised throughout history and has many beneficial and therapeutic effects. It involves applying moderate pressure to the feet. It is thought that each part of the body is represented on the feet so by applying pressure to a certain part of the foot may improve health and well being within the body and within the person as a whole. Sometimes our bodies do not always function properly and can result in pain and discomfort. Reflexology helps people to relax and unwind and can allow the body to function more effectively.
A typical session
The first session will include a detailed consultation about current health and well being and any issues of concern within the body as well as identifying the client’s needs. The client will be asked to remove shoes and socks but otherwise will remain fully clothed. The treatment will involve the therapist working on all areas of the feet. Later sessions will not require the consultation but will record feedback from previous treatments.
The therapist may feel or see things on the feet and will work to remove areas of congestion or irritation. Although reflexology cannot claim to cure conditions, prescribe or diagnose conditions, it could help people to cope with the effects of a variety of conditions more effectively. The theory of reflexology suggests that it helps the body to restore its natural balance. Often clients feel relaxed, less tense and report sleeping better following a treatment. Feelings of improved mood and general wellbeing are also common effects of reflexology.
Treatments are £30 for an hour or £20 for 30 minutes
